Grants to prevent violence
TheYCB and Minneapolis Foundation are offering grants for youth-led programs that address violence (Deadline to apply: 2 PM, Wednesday December 28th, 2011).

Blueprint for Action: Preventing Youth Violence in Minneapolis
Preventing youth violence requires a holistic, multi-faceted response. Drawing on increased law enforcement and public health strategies to address root causes and significantly reduce and prevent youth violence, the City of Minneapolis joined a host of community stakeholders to create this blueprint to fully address youth violence.

Goals identified in the Blueprint for Action

• Connect every youth with a trusted adult
• Intervene at the first sign that youth are at risk for violence
• Restore youth who have gone down the wrong path
• Unlearn the culture of violence in our community
